winter fun

We went out for target practice one day. Emma had fun trying out her new BB gun on some targets.
Sue had a great time in the back of the truck despite the crazy coldness.
We are getting another horse. We are crazy people, I know! The truth is that you cannot get a good well trained horse in our price range so we will be attempting to train another yearling. She is a beautiful dun that is very sweet. She is worth every penny even if we decide to have a trainer work with her later on. I have really enjoyed working with Twinkle and so I am really excited to be working with another also. The goal is to be able to go on rides together and have good 4-H animals for the kids. Our palomino is a great older horse but he is too old to do much with after the next 2 or so years. We are looking to the future and enjoying the process! We take her home mid February.

It has been a very cold winter so far...so cold you can see it in this picture! We have been training Twinkle quite a bit. She had the kids on her this week! She is only 18 months old so we do a lot of ground work. She is going to make a great riding horse when the time comes!

We went out rabbit hunting just south of town. Too cold for the rabbits but we had a blast and Kevin got some ducks.

Winter!

It has been awhile since I have blogged and it has been because we have been busy living! But here are some pictures from our lives this winter. We went to Temple Square on the way to visit with the Lloyd side. The kids were amazed!

We had some tasty turkeys for Thanksgiving! This tom survived Thanksgiving but didn't make it through Christmas break. We still have the hen and hope to breed her this spring.

The first snowman of the year...all must not be happy about it!
