We got a little snow!

We finally got some snow this winter! I was hoping for a white Christmas and I think it will last because it is getting cold again. The kids have had fun sledding and eating snow. Monday night the kids started a nativity all on their own! All Kevin and I did was watch! They were so cute. Cody was Samuel the Lamanite telling of Christ's birth to come and the Shepherds. Emma was Mary and directed. Travis was Joseph and the Wise Men. Suzy was the Angel that told the Shepherds of Christ's birth. I was so impressed with what they knew. Our primary is awesome and taught them many details. Cody's favorite prop was the shepherd's staff and next was the goat cheese they had for the journey! It has been a special Christmas already!

The babies started "ruining everything!"

I got a deer!

I finally shot a doe yesterday. I'm excited to make some jerky! It was quite a family ordeal. We now know that Emma is allergic to deer. She helped get it off the hill and got hives, her eyes were almost swollen shut and her lips swelled up. She was fine after having Benedryl but sure gave us a scare! No more touching deer for her!
This was the view from the kitchen window a few days ago. It never gets old.

Everyone who lives in cold climates should grow geraniums indoors in the winter. They make winter bearable for me!

December Photos

Sorry it has been awhile. C.J. has a cast on his left hind leg. I think it is funny! He had surgery to remove some scar tissue while we were gone for Thanksgiving and they put the cast on so he doesn't mess with it. He gets his cast off next week. Twinkle (the baby horse we got from the round up) is doing good. She is leading well and is responding well to being handled. I think she will make a great horse to ride and I'm really glad we got her.
Emma and Cody had a Christmas concert for school. All the classes at the elementary (all 6) sing and do poems, etc. It was so good. The kids sang real Christmas songs that mentioned the Savior and everything! Except Emma's class sang a Hanauka song that was entertaining.

As you know...we are always catching some type of critter around here. The chicken coop catches a lot of birds. The boys had fun with this little sparrow.
