Wildflowers
We went to the fishing derby this Saturday and had a blast! I don't have any pictures because it rained the whole time and Kevin and I were both busy baiting hooks and getting fish off, etc. They caught like crazy...and Emma won a pink camo tackle box with lures and a t-shirt for catching one of the biggest fish! Cody did great also and got lures and a bucket full of goodies. Even Travis came home with treasures. He got a baseball with Smokey the Bear on it and other fishing tackle. We had lots of fun and are going again next year for sure! After fishing there was a break in the weather so we went and picked wildflowers. It has been raining so much and the flowers are beautiful. I love to press them. We had a great afternoon in the woods and were reminded of why we live in the middle of nowhere.

A little fishy!
I took the boys and Suzanna to the kid's pond last week while Emma was at computer camp. We had a great time. Cody caught lots of fish and Travis loved reeling in the line. It was very peaceful with no one around but the 4 families of geese teaching their young to swim. This weekend is a kid's fishing tournament at the pond. We might go...the kids get lots of free stuff.
Emma loved going to computer camp...I loved it because it was free. They got to tear apart computers and see what was inside and design graphics for a t-shirt. Then they ironed on the picture and got to keep it. While she did that 4 days last week, the boys and I did fun stuff too. We went to the local State Park interpretive center and panned for gold! They now have gold fever!

Yankee Fork Dredge
We went to the Yankee Fork area last weekend and looked at some ghost towns from the late 1800's. They mined gold in the area. This is a rock chuck we saw. He must not be afraid of ghosts.
There is a big gold dredge that was last used to mine gold out of the Yankee Fork River in 1952. It is a huge barge in the middle of the mountains! We had a good time walking around it.
